The right preparation for the shoot

Even for experienced models, a shooting appointment can still be exciting, especially if you are working with a new photographer, in our case me.

I've put together a whole series of tips for you to take to heart in preparation for the first and perhaps future shoots, so that nothing goes wrong.

By the way, a little excitement is perfectly fine, because adrenaline not only improves blood circulation but also makes for a beautiful complexion. And if you follow at least a few of my tips, then the two of us will have a lot of fun ...

and very important: think about your own thoughts ...

Basically, every model should have three factors under control right from the start:

Self-organisation, styling and beauty

The aspect of self-organisation: The time before the shooting should be hectic. It is best to pack your outfits the night before. The outfits you bring should be washed and ironed. Therefore pack the night before, because then there is still time to wash, iron or choose something else. Accessories and shoes should not be forgotten either, of course. Many models forget to check their socks for holes or scuffed areas - please remember this. Choose clothes that you feel comfortable in.

Please plan a time buffer for the journey to compensate for traffic jams and train cancellations. This relaxes you and therefore also me. If something does cause delays, please let me know in good time. Therefore, it is very important to have a charged mobile phone and the number of me or a contact person with you. This way you can let me know in time if you are running late.

In a shooting with many set changes, there may be longer waiting times. Warm clothing is especially useful for outdoor shoots or at cooler times of the year, so that you can quickly throw something on in between.

The apsect of styling: Strange as it may sound, it's best to come to the shoot in loose-fitting sports clothes. This ensures that there are no marks on your skin from elastic bands that take a long time to disappear, which is especially annoying in nudes. Each model should also have at least one seamless, body-coloured thong, panties and T-shirt bra with and without straps, which she can bring to every shoot.

The beauty aspect: The most important part of any shoot is your radiance. That's why it's extremely important to look and feel as rested and fresh as possible on the day of the shoot, so you shouldn't go out partying the night before. Alcohol is an absolute no-no: it dehydrates and leads to sallow skin and dark circles under the eyes - not to mention possible circulatory problems. If you smoke, you should limit your cigarette consumption as much as possible the day before the shoot.

You should also watch what you eat before the shoot. I don't mind garlic, but flatulent foods can also make you feel a little tummy. You can keep your skin firm by drinking plenty of fluids. It's best to take a snack with you to the shoot - you never know.

If you shave your genital area, it's best to do it the night before so that you don't get razor burn on the pictures. Putting lotion on after shaving also helps the look. It's best not to shave for three days beforehand, because the shave will be more precise with slightly longer hair and the skin will be less irritated.

Another tip from me for the morning of the shoot is a good but gentle exfoliation for face and body. However, please don't try any new cosmetic products before the shoot, lest you react to them and maybe get redness or pimples. Under no circumstances should you lie under the sunbed for weeks before the shoot. This will only dry out the skin. It is better to use a light, high quality self-tanner, which is applied to the peeled skin the day before the shooting, but please test the skin compatibility beforehand and apply evenly, otherwise there will be brown spots. If you have dyed hair, the roots should be dyed in good time before the shoot. Finger and toe nails should be clean and well manicured. Instead of deodorant, it is advisable to use an antiperspirant on the day of the shoot to avoid white stains on your clothes.

Remember: your God-given look is the best, because it's just natural.

Now a little checklist for you to help you prepare for your photo shoot with me:
